The power outage in Spain and Portugal wasn't caused by extreme weather, but by an over-reliance on wind and solar. If the UK continues on its headlong path to Net Zero, we can expect similar failures.

Why do we fail to deport those whom we should deport? It's due in the end, says Dr David McGrogan, to an excess of pity. We are pitying ourselves into disorder and social decay. We need to be willing not to be nice.

Shells friendly Judge caught expressing right wing racist views publicly...

Ooooops!...Judge Mary Devins, notorious judge in many cases against shell to sea activists, is finally seen for the right wing racist she is as she trips over her own bigoted remarks
devins.jpg

A piece in the independent about Notorious Judge Mary Devins which may be of interest to those following cases in belmullet court...

Apparently judge devins doesn't just hold people exercising their democratic right to protest the corporate takeover of our resources in contempt. Apparently she also holds foreign nationals and people on welfare in contempt too. Nice attitudes for a judge on a huge bloated salary paid by the hard work and taxes of citizens of many nationalities living in Ireland.

You've now shown your true colours and no fake public apology will extricate you from this particular faux pas Mrs Devins...

Quote:
A JUDGE was yesterday forced into a second apology after she described Ireland's social welfare system as a "Polish charity".

The Irish Polish Society accepted the apology but immigrants rights body, the Integration Centre, said District Court Judge Mary Devins still had a lot of questions to answer.

However, Killian Forde, chief executive of the Integration Centre, said it would not pursue a garda complaint into the judge's comments.

"Our concerns still stand. We have simply postponed any action," he said.

"Judge Devins said her initial comments were made about a separate case. She must elaborate on this case and she must also explain why she did not give the money to the Polish charity as laid out by the other judge."

The controversy arose following a case last Friday when Castlebar District Court questioned if there was a Polish charity in Ireland.

Context

Judge Devins remarked: "A Polish charity? There is. It's called the social welfare."

Earlier this week she tried to clarify her remarks.

But yesterday the judge was forced into giving an unreserved apology.

She said: "I unreservedly and without qualification apologise for my off-the-cuff comments at a recent court case. I understand and accept the hurt these comments caused to members of the Polish community.

"This was never my intention and I express my sorrow for same. My previous clarification was an attempt to provide a context and was not intended in any way to dilute my apology for such unwarranted comments."

Mr Forde said he believed Judge Devins remained compromised by the comments and questioned her ability to sit on any case involving a foreign national in future.

He added: "How can she sit on any case involving a foreigner? Any solicitor or barrister would be well within their rights to use this to have the case withdrawn.

"She has now become a judge who can only sit on cases for some of the population. What happens legally with the next foreign case she gets?"

Mr Forde is now calling for a complete reform of how judges are appointed.

she was having a good rant about slow drivers aswell, its speed that kills, someone should tell this racist alcoholic judge..she had a case before her where a guy was speeding and he said it was due to a slow driver ahead, and he felt he had to overtake in a dangerous position, then instead of cautioning the speeder she gets worked up and goes into a rant about slow drivers ffs..

the justice system in ireland is broken,in fact its never been right, and its judges like this that undermine the good work of the gardai siochana,(of what little we have of them in the first place ffs!),lenient foolish judges and foolish loud mouth ones who spout the mouth at the polish community, should not just get a slap on the wrist, they should get suspended from their job without their plush pay for however long it takes to sink in,that its no appropriate behavior for anyone especially judges in their position,we should expect more from them.

i have read in newspapers on countless occasions where judges get criminals off the hook ,or hand them down suspended sentences, when is this going to stop?

the function of judges in ireland seems to be undermining the gardai..
