It's not 'CSE'. It's child rape, says Joanna Gray. Enough with the sterile acronyms that seem designed to conceal the horror. Enough of the "bewitchment of our intelligence by means of language" (Wittgenstein).

Hunt Saboteurs hunt the hunters

Members of the Association of Hunt Saboteurs placed a peaceful picket on the Louth Foxhounds hunt ball held at the Four Season’s Hotel, Ballsbridge, Dublin on Saturday night last.

Over thirty members and supporters of the AOHS staged a two- hour protest at the entrance to the hotel.

Security was tight at the hotel but Gardai reported a trouble free event. Those attending the hunt ball had to pass protestors holding banners and posters calling for a ban on foxhunting and all forms of hunting with dogs.

Bernie Wright, spokesperson, for the Association of Hunt Saboteurs said: “Hunt balls are a major fund raising effort and monies raised at these events help the keep the killing activities of the hunt going.”

“Hunt balls are a night out for animal abusers and those who support the killing of animals for entertainment.”

Ms. Wright went on to say that her organisation will be stepping up its ant-hunt campaign as the 2006/20067 hunting season gets underway. She called on the Irish government to outlaw hunting and to increase animal protection legislation.

The Association of Hunt Saboteurs is a non-violent direct action animal rights organisation. It campaigns for the abolition of all forms of animal hunting.

The Louth Hunt Ball is an annual event held to coincide with the annual Dublin Horse Show.
