The shamefull farce of the SEELB budget continues. The Department of Education through the appointed "Hitmen" Commissioners are pushing ahead with their despicable agenda of cuts and closures.

The shamefull farce of the SEELB budget continues. The Department of Education through the appointed "Hitmen" Commissioners are pushing ahead with their despicable agenda of cuts and closures. Like some broken record they are still spounting the nonsense of money constraints and limited resources while "Sitting" on an UNDERSPEND of £69!!
This kind of incompetence from the Department is totally unacceptable. It is up to Trade Unions, political parties, community representitives, parents, students, teachers, to stand up and demand immediate action to rectify this situation. Across the whole province the education system has been forced to endure unnecessary cuts in services, while as we now know that all the time the money was available to actually increase and improve services.
Time is running out, what ever group you are from, let's get out there and make some noise, take a stand, show that we are not prepared to be "fobbed" off with a second rate system, run by third rate ministers.
NIPSA branch 517 would like to take this oppertunity to thank all those who atteneded the demonstration at the Department of Education Headquarters yesterday, especially those non education sector workers whose solidarity and support Is much appreciated
