Reform is favourite to win the Runcorn and Helsby by-election, overturning Labour's 14,700 majority. Why? It might have something to do with having the nation's third-highest number of asylum seekers, says Steven Tucker.

'Do Not Co-Operate with Roslea Probe' - RSF

category fermanagh | miscellaneous | press release author Monday August 18, 2008 23:09author by Richard Walsh - Republican Sinn Féin Report this post to the editors

RSF have urged people not to collaborate with the RUC.

A number of homes in the Roslea area of County Fermanagh received letters from the Major Investigations Team (MIT) of the RUC on Monday, 18th August, seeking information relating to a military operation targeting British forces near the village in June. An IRA landmine partially exploded, seriously injuring two members of the British colonial police. A spokesperson for Republican Sinn Féin told the people of Roslea that they must not allow themselves to be pressurised into becoming informers.

The letter sought replies to be sent to a named RUC Detective Constable in Gough Barracks, and asked a number of questions about activity in the area at the time. These included details of peoples movements between certain dates, and asked who was with them and whether anyone else were in their homes at the time. The RUC also enquired about details of vehicles driven around the Rellan Road during the period, and the route taken.

RSF Director of Publicity, Richard Walsh said: “It is ironic that these letters were addressed 'to the occupier' given that they were in fact sent by the occupier. No-one should allow themselves to collaborate with the RUC, and under no circumstances whatsoever should anyone respond to this disgusting probe. Nor should anyone claiming to represent the people of Roslea advise anyone to do so. Any assistance given to the RUC on this matter is, by definition, informing.”

In other words, a not-so-veiled threat has been issued. Nice one. Let's all go back into the dark ages.

On the evidence of past activities, civilians have a lot more to fear from the heroes of rsf and their associates than the crown forces do.

RSF are dead right for telling the people not to talk to the peelers.

Mr. Walsh, I am very intrigued at your statement in relation to the people of Lisnakea and Fermanagh. I agree with one of the last postings about the unveiled threat that he mentioned in response of previous postings.

Mr. Walsh, the questions I want to ask you:

You cannot speak on behalf of the people of Lisnakea. You may be a member of RSF but you have no mandate to tell anybody not to cooperate with the Police and that is a pure fact, Mr. Walsh.

Mr. Walsh - could you clarify for me the definition of an informer? I would like to know and believe me I had numerous phone calls today from people in the Republican movement, who would like to know.

As 99% of now, all of this Island, will not condone a loss of life or violence towards anybody. I would also like to know the word and the meaning of Incitement to Hatred. I will never condone a loss of life.

Republican politics has moved on and maybe you should move on with it, through the Ballot Box.

I have family in Lisnaskea, Mr. Walsh and they are disgusted with your comments.

Kevin T. Walsh

I would strongly advise people not to respond to any questionnaire being issued by the PSNI (the "British Military Police"), as they would be putting in grave danger the lives of completely innocent Irish citizens being targeted by the PSNI solely for their political beliefs/activities. Many innocent Irish people have gone to prison in the past and suffered well documented heinous acts of brutality at the hands of this British military police force, some have suspiciously ended up dead - please do not let this happen again to a fellow citizen.

This island deserves a decent police force truly representative of all the people of the 32 counties and mindful and respectful of people's human rights, regardless of what it thinks of an individual's political views. Please do not co-operate with a British military police force in Ireland which violates the basic human rights of citizens and lacks accountability and responsibility in this area - we all deserve so much better.
