Sunday June 28, 2009 17:12 by TD - Free Palestine Campaign

For nastiness, aggression and malevolence, it's still DIY for Woodie's
Yesterday, in Shop Street, activists and supporters of Shell to Sea and Galway Free Palestine Campaign found common cause and empathy in their resistance to the murderous abuse of state and corporate power: in the case of Israel; egregious and genocidal, in the case of Shell, the bending of corrupt governments to its will; from the judicial murder of the Ogoni 9 in Nigeria to, in Ireland, the jailing of the Rossport 5, economic treason through the giveaway of the Corrib field gas by notorious corrupt politicians, the criminalization and bulldozing of dissent through the deployment of Navy gunships, the shoot-to-kill Emergency Response Unit and a security outfit, hand in glove with the Garda, arm-in-arm with an openly fascist paramilitary group and favoured by Fianna Fail for its Ard Fheiseanna over the past few years.
"It is now known that Kildare-based security firm Integrated Risk Management Services (I-RMS) played a part in bringing (Michael) Dwyer together with right-wing Hungarian elements from a group known as the Szekler Legion – an outfit prepared to use violence to achieve autonomy for ethnic Hungarians in a border region of Romania" (Related Link).
At the Shell to Sea rally by the two Oscar statues, Michael D.Higgins, TD, vented his concern at the cozy relationship of the Guards and I-RMS whose personnel assault, intimidate and surveille with impunity and immunity in Rossport and the corruption of the law of the land with the bizzare arrest of Jonathan O'Donnell for "loitering at sea".
Earlier on in the afternoon, Garda collusion with Big Business was evidenced outside Woodie's DIY store in the Galway Shopping Center, Headford Road, when Woodie's in-house "security" thug, in full view of two Ban Garda ripped down our flag of Palestine and threw it on the road without demur or reproach from them and who then attempted to harass and intimidate us away from Woodie's with the "private property" canard and with the baseless charge that we were breaking Section 7 of the Criminal Justice Act - Woodie's and this fellow are habituated to sliming us scurillious contemptible charges of: "Cursing, swearing at and being abusive towards their customers ... blocking the entrance," and so on ad nauseam (see video).
Last week, the threat of arrest under Section 8 of the Public Order Act was the intimidatory ploy to cow us, in vain, away from malodorous unethical Woodie's (see Politube video to follow).
